Julia Bodin is an EPFL environmental engineer. She completed her studies with a Master’s project on coral resilience to climate change and discovered diving along with marine littering. She then started a PhD on microplastics for which she read and learned about plastic pollution, marine littering, and microplastic’s pollution absorption potential. After one year, she interrupted her PhD but did not lose the motivation to improve our ocean’s state. She created Let’s Talk Waste, a project to inspire and empower people to rethink their waste production and elimination keeping in mind the positive impact it could have on our oceans.
